News! MHRC Award Recipient Attendance at CIHR 2009 Canadian Health Research Awards in Ottawa

The Research Connections Program under MHRC provides matching funding to support health research conferences, workshops, research days and like events. Its purpose is to promote the advancement and exchange linkages between researchers and among researchers and others.

Supported events must focus on an area of human health research, defined broadly as encompassing biomedical science, clinical research, health services and systems research and research on the cultural, social and environmental determinants of population health.

This event is an opportunity for CIHR to honour exceptional people the Institutes have funded for their remarkable contributions to health research. As a provincial collaborator in this event, the Manitoba Health Research Council has the ability to invite several of the Council’s funded researchers to attend the event, as an opportunity to network with other researchers/stakeholders from across the country, share their own current research, as well as what other important research is taking place in Manitoba.

The Canadian Institutes for Health Research’s annual Celebration of Excellence in Canadian Health event was held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at the National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa.

MHRC staff selected 2 award recipients from the Operating and Studentship grant competitions from the 2009 Competition to approach with an invitation to attend the event:
